The Sunday Bugler

Effective January 1, 2023, there have been minor updates to 30 merit badges, including seven that are Eagle-required.  Scouts that had started under the former requirements may finish using those requirements, but any scouts starting work from now on need to use the updated requirements.  See https://www.scouting.org/skills/merit-badges/all/ for details of the changes.

New processing was completed on February 10 to re-submit CBC records that have accumulated with Aging in Categories of Over 30 Days, Over 45 Days, Over 90 Days, and One Year and over. Records with Validation Errors were not re-submitted to Volunteer Advantage. Councils must continue to check for and correct Validation Errors that block CBC Submittals. Most of these Errors are because of No SSN, Invalid Dates (DOB), Invalid Address (including having a Non-US Address), or No County Name. Please give attention to the Aging Report and identify records that require update and resolve the Errors as soon as possible. HINT: To find Aged Records with Validation Errors, go to CBC, Select this reporting, and use Filter to set the parameters back to at least January 1, 2022, and enter Current Date and Run Report. Councils will need to monitor results and if records return with an indicated report (Red) then the entry of the Completed Date is still required; otherwise Completed Dates (Green) will be updated automatically. Not all Councils have records in these Categories of Aging, of course, and only those with records that remained in Aging and failed to complete previously are included. The Re-Submitted Records will receive a new CBC History with the Entered, Submitted, and Completed Dates displayed.
